Statute of limitations
4 years
Utah Code § 78B-2-307
Four years from the injury in an ordinary negligence file. That number is long. Do not treat it as a reason to wait.
- A governmental entity under the Governmental Immunity Act generally needs a notice of claim within one year (§ 63G-7-402). Miss it, and the four-year story does not save the file.
